The Cascade Locks Historical museum was established in 1969 as a result of dedicated community cooperation. The museum features information, photos, and artifacts on the history of the Columbia River Gorge, including logging, Native Americans, Railroads, Sawmills, Fishwheels, Sternwheelers, Steamboats and much, much more.
Admission is free and is open May through September from noon until 5pm.
Just across the historic Bridge of the Gods is the Columbia Gorge Interpretive Center which contains Native American History in the Gorge from their perspective. The Creation Theatre provides the story of the cataclysmic creation of the Gorge. A visitor can also view the world’s largest rosary collection which is on display at the center.

East of Cascade Locks in Troutdale, lies the Rail Depot museum with a caboose. The Depot was built in 1907 which replaced the 1882 station. The Depot is filled with train related treasures from a by gone era.
The Harlow House and the Barn museum are a short distance going east on the Historic Columbia River Highway. There are changing special exhibits based on the local history with more information available by visiting www.troutdalehistory.org
